Microhydrin Vs. Megahydrate

Antioxidants release hydrogen ions into the body to fight free radicals. According to some members of the scientific community, these antioxidants have anti-aging properties or at least reduce damage associated with degenerative diseases. Microhydrin and MegaHydrate are two similar antioxidant supplements marketed with these claims.

Antitoxidants

• Antitoxicants exist in fruits.

  According to the National Institutes of Health, antioxidants are chemical substances that possibly protect your cells against free radicals. These free radicals can damage cells and may contribute to heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Free radicals are byproducts produced during digestion, or they are from environmental sources like smoke or radiation. Antioxidants are found in fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, fish and some meats.

Natural Antitoxicants

• Tomatoes contain lycopene.

  Many antioxidants occur naturally. The National Institutes of Health lists these examples: beta-carotene, lutein, lycopene, selenium, vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E.

• The scientific community has not reached consensus on the effects of antioxidants to prevent aging. The American Dietetic Association states:

  "Just like rust on a car, oxidation can cause damage to cells and may contribute to aging. Antioxidants help prevent oxidation, may help increase immune function and possibly decrease risk of infection and cancer. Antioxidants exist as vitamins, minerals and other compounds in foods."

  The developer of the antioxidant supplement MegaHydrate, Dr. Patrick Flanagan, is more direct, claiming that the the "majority of modern science has come to the conclusion that free radical damage in the human body is the cause of aging."

Antioxidant Supplements

• Microhydrin and MegaHydrate are antioxidant supplements, consisting of silica hydride, which release hydrogen ions into the body. According to Dr. Flanagan, these hydrogen ions combat aging by "stop[ing] free radical damage."

  Dr. Flanagan claims that MegaHydrate does this by using "numerous features such as increased hydration, increased zeta potential of cells to clean the blood, alkalizing of blood, and detoxification."

  The producer of Microhydrin claims that, "Microhydrin provides powerful protection from free radical damage ... linked to many degenerative diseases."

Microhydrin vs. MegaHydrate

• Regardless of your belief whether natural or supplemental antitoxitants combat aging, Microhydrin and MegaHydrate share similarities and differences.

  Microhydrin and MegaHydrate both release hydrogen ions originally bonded to silica or silicate. According the products' claims, they both increase energy, increase absorbtion of nutrients, have anti-aging properties (or at least address many degenerative diseases), and balance the pH of the body.

  The difference between Microhydrin and MegaHydrate is that MegaHydrate has patented silica Microclusters®. Dr. Flanagan states that silica Microclusters® make "wetter water, allowing greater detoxification and nutrient absorption."
