Side Effects of Adcal
Adcal is a medication made up of calcium carbonate used in the treatment of calcium deficiencies. The medication works by supplementing the body with necessary amounts of calcium, which in turn aids in bone strength and growth and the clotting of blood. As is the case with most medications, there are a number of side effects associated with use.-
Common Side Effects

Side effects associated with using Adcal include diarrhea, constipation, bloating, stomach pain, vomiting, indigestion, constipation, headache, general discomfort and general weakness. While these are considered the most common side effects associated with using Adcal, they only affect a small amount of users.
Severe Side Effects

Unfortunately, there are a number of severe side effects associated with using this medication, including allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, tightening of the chest, hives, skin rash, closing of the throat, and swelling of the mouth, lips, tongue and throat. These side effects are also very rare and do not affect a large amount of users.

If you have a history of kidney stones, there is a strong possibility that your doctor will have to regularly monitor your progress throughout the course of your treatment. In addition, if you have a history of kidney failure or elevated levels of calcium in your urine, consult with your doctor before beginning to use Adcal. Never use this medication if you have high levels of calcium in your blood.
Use

Always use this medication exactly as it was prescribed by your doctor and never in doses larger than what has been recommended on the label. This medication is administered in pill form and should be taken with a full glass of water. Adcal can be taken with or without food and should be stored at room temperature. Store this medication away from sources of moisture.

If an overdose is suspected, contact the poison control center and head directly to the nearest emergency room.
