Intralipid Side Effects
Intralipids are a dietary supplement used to treat patients who are unable to get enough fat in their normal diet because of recent illness or surgery. Fats are essential for the body to perform its normal functions, which in turn also help in the recovery process from serious dehabiliation. As with most dietary supplements, there are a number of side effects that can come as a result of use.-

As mentioned, there are certain side effects associated with using Intralipids. Some of these side effects include sore throat, chills, fever, swelling at the site of injection, diarrhea, dizziness, vomiting and nausea. While these are considered the most common side effects of using the supplement, they only affect a small number of users.
Severe Side Effects

Unfortunately, there are also a number of severe side effects associated with using this supplement. Some of these side effects include headache, difficulty breathing, hives, bluish skin tone, severe back and chest pain, unusual bleeding and bruising, tiredness, weakness and yellowing of the skin and eyes. These side effects are also very rare and do not affect a large amount of users.

Intralipids have been known to cause increased dizziness and drowsiness in some users. As a result, it is recommended not to operate any type of machinery (including automobiles) while using this medication. Tell your doctor if you have ever had any type of allergic reaction to eggs, beans, soybeans, peas or fat emulsions. Consult your doctor if you are taking any other types of medications while using Intralipids.

Always use this supplement in conjunction with your doctor's orders and never in dosages that exceed what has been recommended on the label. Intralipids are administered in injection form and should only be performed by a medical professional in a medical setting. The size of the dosage will depend on how much of a fat emulsion your body requires to return to an equilibrium state.
