The University of Maryland Medical Center reports that CoQ10 boosts energy and enhances the immune system, as well as aids positively in a variety of medical conditions.

    • Coenzyme Q10 is available in soft gel capsules, hard shell capsules and tablets. There is also an oral spray available. CoQ10 is a recognized ingredient in a variety of cosmetics. The supplement is available in 30 to 200 mg dosages.

    • The adult-recommended dose goes from 30 to 200 mg. The exact amount for specific medical conditions has not been documented. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, there has been breast tumor shrinkage, blood sugar regulation, blood pressure and cholesterol lowered from those taking CoQ10 supplements.

    CoQ10 Preventative supplement

    • According to the Health Care Foundation of New Jersey, Co Q10 has not been proved as a preventative measure for disease in healthy people. Taking under 150 mg per day is apparently safe, but there have not been long range tests of this supplement. There seems to be many different opinions of the value of CoQ10.
