Salmon oil, a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, is a dietary supplement used to improve a person's health as well as an adjunct treatment for high blood pressure, gastrointestinal disorders, dementia and heart disease. Though it has demonstrated some benefit from daily use, it can bring about some undesirable side effects.-

Many people who use salmon oil have complained of the consistency of their stools. Often, a person's stool will be softer and greasier than normal.
Bad Breath

Depending on the length of time a person has been using salmon oil, he may begin to develop bad breath. This will usually present itself as a fishy odor emanating from a person's mouth.
Weight Gain

If you take too much fish oil for an extended period of time, you may begin to store fat differently than before, resulting in weight gain. It is advisable to stick to the recommended dosage to avoid this side effect.
Elevated Cholesterol

Although salmon oil is suppose to lower your cholesterol level, some people's levels have increased after taking too much salmon oil. This is not the "good" cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein, HDL), but low-density lipoprotein (LDL), which can bring about health-related issues due to a narrowing of the arteries.
