How to Use Apple Cider Vinegar for Weight Loss

Apple cider vinegar has been touted for thousands of years as a folk remedy for weight loss with no known side effects. It is made from a double fermentation process of apples. It is unknown exactly how apple cider vinegar aids in weight loss, but it is thought that it helps someone feel "full" earlier when eating and prevents a rise in blood sugar.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase apple cider vinegar that is not filtered, pasteurized or distilled, because that may destroy nutrients important to its weight loss properties.

    • 2

Start out slowly. While there are no known side effects of ingesting apple cider vinegar, you want to make sure you're okay with it. Begin the first day with 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in water. If you have no problem with it, then increase to 2 tablespoons of cider in water the next day. Begin normal dosing on the third day (see Step 3).

    • 3

Take 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before each meal. Dilute the cider in water, take it straight, or add 1 to 2 teaspoons of honey to make it sweeter.

    • 4

Continue to diet and exercise to encourage weight loss.
