How to Freeze Flaxseed Oil
Flaxseed oil is extracted from flaxseeds and used as a dietary supplement. The oil is high in essential fatty acids and fiber, both of which are necessary for optimal health. These fatty acids can't be produced by the body, so it's important that you supplement them through food, including flaxseed oil. Consume approximately 1,000 mg of flaxseed oil per day to reduce your risk of suffering from the symptoms of an essential fatty acid deficiency, which include diabetes, heart disease and cancer.Things You'll Need

1
Place flaxseed oil in the refrigerator immediately after opening. If you aren't going to use the entire contents within six weeks, freeze the product to keep it from spoiling.
-
2
Put the flaxseed oil in an airtight container. If you purchased the oil pressed -- rather than pressing it yourself from flaxseeds -- it's likely already in an appropriate container.
-
3
Put the container into the freezer. Frozen flaxseed oil is good for approximately a year. If you might not use it all by then, consider writing a date on the container so you know when to discard it.
