How to Make Olive Leaf Extract Concentrate
Olive leaf extract has been used for hundreds of years to alleviate chronic fatigue, intestinal pain and cold and flu symptoms. Oleuropein, a natural antibiotic found in olive leaves, helps strengthen the body's immune response and improve overall health.The extract is also lowers bad cholesterol and provides the body with antioxidants. Many users take olive extract three times or more daily -- recommended dosage for adults is roughly 1/2 cup or one capsule.Things You'll Need
- 8 oz. dried olive leaves
- 1 gallon water
- Slow cooker
- Storing containers
- Small spoon or spatula
- Empty capsules
- Coffee grinder, food processor or mortar and pestle

Liquid Extract

Rinse 8 ounces of dried olive leaves. Drain out all excess water.

Place olive leaves in a Crock-Pot or other slow cooker. Add 1 gallon of distilled water.

Turn on low heat -- ideally 175 to185 degrees Fahrenheit -- and let sit for 12 hours. Check every couple hours -- if your slow cooker exceeds 185 degrees Fahrenheit, shut off the power or remove the lid to release some heat.

Pour through a strainer and collect the liquid extract in bottles or jars and store in refrigerator. Discard olive leaves.
Extract Capsules

Use a coffee grinder, food processor or mortar and pestle to grind your dried olive leaves.

Add olive leaf extract powder at a 1-to-1 ratio to increase potency, if desired. Mix well.

Fill the smaller side of the empty capsule with the extract using a small spoon or spatula. Pack it as much as you can until the extract is overflowing the small end of the capsule. Connect the capsule together and store in an airtight container.
