According to the Nutritional Supplements Health Guide, a typical dose of rutin is 200 to 600 milligrams daily, but you can take up to 500 mg twice daily. Side effects are rare but include dizziness, racing pulse, diarrhea, fatigue and muscle stiffness. Swelling, respiratory problems and rashes can indicate an allergic reaction.
