How to Get Enough Vitamin D3

      To get enough sun, you need to expose your skin to the sun for at least 15 minutes two times a week without wearing any sunscreen. Do not allow your skin to burn.

      Tanning booths do not give you Vitamin D3.

      Vitamin D3 is necessary to avoid many illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, depression, obesity, and possibly cancer.

      Eat foods that are high in Vitamin D3 such as wild caught salmon (not farmed raised, read the label), mackerel, sardines, egg yolks, milk fortified with Vitamin D3, cod liver oil and beef liver.

      Vitamin D3 needs calcium to be absorbed into the body. Eat foods high in calcium with your foods that are high in Vitamin D3 such as broccoli, milk and spinach. Natural Vitamin D3 can be absorbed from the sun and from food.

      Most Americans have a Vitamin D3 deficiency, ask your doctor to test your blood to see if you do also.
