What Are the Daily Recommended Vitamins?

Recommended daily vitamins are important in the regulation of blood pressure and body function. B-Complex vitamins and Vitamin C are water-soluble and need to be replaced by the body daily. Fat-soluble Vitamins A, D, E, K, are stored in the body. They can be toxic in high doses.

    Vitamin C

      Vitamin A is essential for vision health and reproduction. Found in liver, whole milk, carrots and other fortified foods.

    Vitamin D

      Vitamin D helps regulate calcium levels in the blood. Dietary sources include milk, eggs and fortified foods. Sun exposure is also a major source.

    Vitamin E

    • Vitamin E is high in antioxidant properties that help prevent damage to cells from free radicals, which may contribute to the development of heart disease. Excellent dietary sources are nuts and vegetable oils.

    Vitamin K

    • Vitamin K is required for essential blood clot formation. It is found in green leafy vegetables, such as kale, spinach and turnip greens.
