A vitamin deficiency specifically regarding vitamin C allows the body to become susceptible to swollen gums, bruising, lassitude and nosebleeds.
Nosebleeds

If frequent nosebleeds occur, it can be a result of vitamin C deficiency. Regular vitamins and supplements should be consumed to avoid the onset of anemia. Nosebleeds can also occur because of dry nasal passages, hemophilia and preexisting nose conditions. Vitamin C can help reduce nosebleeds but is not necessarily a cure all.
Treatment

A vitamin C supplement containing bioflavonoids should be taken daily. A minimum of 60mg should be taken daily, with a maximum of 2,000mg. In the short term to reduce the bleeding, apply pressure to the side of the nose with the index and thumb fingers for 10 minutes. Applying cotton or tissues to the nostrils will also help alleviate the bleeding. Use an ice pack on the nose to constrict the blood flow. If excessive bleeds occur or occur for prolonged periods of time, seek medical treatment.
