What Kind of Vitamins Are Good for Clear Skin?

You can help maintain clear skin by making sure a healthy mix of vitamins are in your diet. To make it even easier, several of these essential vitamins are found in the same foods.
  1. Vitamin A

    • Vitamin A strengthens skin and repairs tissue. It alleviates dry skin and helps prevent acne as well as treating wrinkles. Find vitamin A in dairy foods such as eggs and whole milk. It also can be found in mangoes, carrots, spinach, cereals and liver.

    Vitamin B

    • Vitamin B tones skin and prevents acne. To get Vitamin B, eat whole wheat products, bran, oatmeal, and dairy products. The vitamin also is in fish, kidney and liver.

    Vitamin C

    • Vitamin C helps skin heal when there is a wound. Vitamin C is primarily found in fruits and vegetables such as oranges, mandarins, strawberries, grapefruit, cabbage, tomatoes, green peppers, lettuce and spinach.

    Vitamin D

    • Skin pigmentation may be helped by Vitamin D. The antioxidant can be received by sunlight. It is found in milk, salmon, tuna, liver, cheese, fortified rice and fortified margarine.

    Vitamin E

    • Vitamin E also is an antioxidant and prevents damage. This is good to take for sunburns. Vitamin E is abundant in almonds, mango, broccoli, spinach, safflower oil, sunflower seeds, peanut butter and hazelnuts.

    Zinc

    • Zinc helps skin heal and prevents acne. Zinc is found in beans and lentils, pumpkin seeds, cereals, seeds, nuts and yeast.
