How to Take Fish Oil Pills
Fish oil is a great way to get the omega-3s your body needs to stay healthy. Fish oil also contains DHA. Together, the DHA and omega-3s work to reduce inflammation in the body. They can also reduce your cholesterol levels. Another added benefit to fish oil is that it reduces stress. Although fish oil has many health benefits, you must take it correctly or it could be harmful to your body.Instructions

Shop carefully for your fish oil pills. You want to purchase a bottle of fish oil that contains 30 percent of the recommended daily amount (RDA) and DHA. If it does, the bottle will read that each pill contains 180 milligrams of EPA and 120 milligrams of DHA.

Take one fish oil pill per day for the first week. This will help your body get used to the fish oil. Take the pill first thing in the morning with a glass of water.
Increase your dosage by taking two fish oil pills per day the second week. You can take one in the morning and one at night.
Gradually, add another pill for a total of three fish oil pills per day. Take one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one at night.
This is the normal dose for an average human being with no major medical conditions. -

See a nutritionist if you have a medical condition and think a higher dose of fish oil would benefit you. Based on your physical condition and dietary needs, they can advise you of the proper dosage.
