Niacin is a variant of Vitamin B that is recommended to help lower cholesterol, reduce the risk of heart attack and care for coronary artery disease. Niacin is found naturally in many foods--including chicken, lima beans, whole grains, and peanut products. It is also a common entity in the human body. Niacin supplements may be purchased over the counter, however some side effects may occur. As with all supplements, speak to a medical professional before starting them.-
