Foods That Are High in Iron & B12
It is a little known fact that vitamin B12 and iron go hand in hand. If you are deficient in one, you can typically become deficient in the other fairly easily. A lack of vitamin B12 can lead to fatigue, heart palpitations, dizziness, hair loss and anemia. An iron deficiency can be caused by different types of anemia. It is important to make sure that you are eating foods that are both high in vitamin B12 and high in iron.-
Organ Meats

Beans are very high in iron and are easily incorporated into the diet. Beans like kidney beans, soybeans and garbanzo beans are particularly high in iron.
Seeds

Pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds are rich in iron. They make a great snack and can be packed and carried easily on a hike.
Doctor Approval
-
Make sure that eating foods rich in vitamin B12 and iron are appropriate for you by checking with your doctor. Some medicines react adversely to supplements of these two vitamins. Check with your doctor before you add any supplement to your diet.
