How to Know If You Are Gaining Weight
Weight gain can happen for a variety of reasons. It may seem like it would be easy to notice, but weight gain can actually sneak up on you and it may take a few pounds until you realize it is happening. The body adds weight in such small amounts that you adjust to these until more noticeable factors point it out to you. Checking your weight to monitor any gain is an easy task that only requires keeping tabs on a few numbers.Things You'll Need

1
Weigh yourself. If you have recently been weighed you can compare the two weights to determine if you have gained any pounds. Sometimes a person can gain up to five pounds without feeling much different or noticing a change. Write down your current weight in the notebook for future reference.

2
Check the fit of your clothing. Do your pants feel any tighter, or do your undergarments leave marks from the elastic that you didn't notice before? This could point to a tighter fit indicative of a couple of extra pounds.

3
Weigh yourself weekly and use your first weigh-in as a reference point to monitor any fluctuations. Record your weight in the notebook to track it.

4
Call your physician if you have had any recent appointments or checkups. Compare the weight they have on file for you to the weight you recorded from your scale. Also ask if there were any fluctuations in the weight recordings in their files if you have had more than one recent visit.
