How to Tell the Height of Your Hip Line

Finding out how tall you are at your hip line is a good way to determine your specific body type, which is helpful when you are trying to dress yourself properly. Some people have tall hip lines, which translates to long legs, and some people have shorter hip lines. The hip line is the fullest part of your hips, and you can take a few steps to both find your hip line and figure out how high it is off the ground.

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap a length of measuring tape around your hips. Move it up and down to find out where the widest part of your hips is. This is your hip line.

    • 2

Hold one end of the measuring tape against your hip line and let the rest of the tape fall straight to the floor.

    • 3

Use your foot to hold it against the ground so it is completely straight and taut. Stoop down to see where your foot is on the measuring tape. This is your hip line height.
