How to Use a Nike Sportband Without Nike Shoes

Setting Up Your Computer

Turn on your computer. Go to NikePlus.com/Downloads to download and install the Nike+Utility.

Pull out the USB link from the SportBand and plug it into the USB port on your computer. The utility will start automatically. Click the information icon ("i") to customize all your settings. You should only have to do this the first time you plug it in. If you already have your settings customized, you can skip this step.

Log in by entering your user name and password in the "Log In" box. If you are not a registered Nike user, you can become one by clicking on the "Join Nike." Enter your weight in the box that says "Weight" and then select "Done."

Change your distance unit to kilometers if you don't want to use miles. Pull out the USB link from the computer and put it back in the SportBand.
Putting the Sensor In Your Sneakers

Remove the insoles from one foot of your sneakers.

Put the sensor somewhere in your sneaker where it will fit comfortably.

Replace your insole.
Using the SportBand While Running

Press the record button on your SportBand and hold it for three seconds. Start walking.

Run when you see the "0.00" and "PUSH TO RUN" blinking. Press the record button. This will start recording your run.

Press record and hold it for three seconds to stop your run.

Connect the USB link to your computer when you are finished to record your results.
