How to Get a Kids BMI
Achieving a healthy weight is an important part of maintaining your body's overall health. If you are unsure whether or not your child is within a healthy weight range for his height, you can easily find out by calculating his BMI, or body mass index. This quick calculation takes height and weight into account and gives you a number that is an approximate measure of the overall percentage of body fat. For children, their age and gender play a part as well.Any number between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered to be a normal weight; below 18.5 is underweight and 25 or above is overweight. A BMI of 30 or above is considered obese.
