One of the most important steps in weight loss is figuring out what your trouble foods are--finding your trigger foods, so to speak. This could be the twinkies you just can't resist, the pasta with alfredo sauce, or the comfort food your mom always made for you when you were feeling down. It could also be the chocolate cake staring you down at the Christmas party.

Daydream about that food. Make it as vivid and real a daydream as possible. If it's a food you crave often, then re-create this daydream every time you're craving it, or as often as possible.

Repeat the food daydreaming often. Daydreaming about eating a food helps you to resist eating it, making you actually crave it less. The more you imagine eating the food, the less you actually want to eat the food in real life. Also the more you imagine eating that particular food the less you will eat if you do decide to have some.
