How to Change a Weight Set Point
The Weight Set Point refers to the theory that the body already has a set point built in that dictates what a person should weigh. It involves the connection between the brain, nervous system and fat cells. Although genetics may play a part, the Weight Set Point does not limit a person's ability to lose weight and get fit. Diet and exercise are big factors in what a Weight Set Point is and how someone can change it for the better.Things You'll Need

Record the number of calories you consume each day. A calorie is a measure of the amount of energy the food provides. By cutting the number of calories you take in each day, you will lose weight. Make sure to choose healthy foods that will give your body the vitamins and nutrients it needs to function properly each day. Avoid "junk food" that is high in fat and chemicals.

2
Start exercising. Exercise raises your metabolism and burns fat. Cardiovascular activities like running, biking and swimming will burn fat. Working out with weights or resistance builds more muscle mass, which will burn more calories at rest.
-
3
Change your exercise program often. This will help to keep your metabolism working by not letting the body adapt to any one workout. A different variety of exercises will keep your body burning fat more efficiently.
If you are using weights, slowly add more weight and change the exercise you are doing for each specific body part on a regular basis. Change your cardio workouts, too. If you are running, you can try alternating your speed or switch to biking once or twice a week.

4
Catch enough Zs. Getting eight hours of sleep each night will help your body recover from your workouts and work more efficiently.
