How to Cut Water Weight Fast
Our bodies consist of about 70% water. Extra water in our bodies can cause bloating. Water retention is often due to a poor diet as well as a lack of physical exercise; the effects can be a swollen appearance in the face, wrists, ankles, hands and feet. 1
Drink lots of water. Keeping your body hydrated with plenty of water can counteract the over-production of water in the body. Often, a dehydrated body accumulates water weight because it is overcompensating for the lack of fluids in the body.

2
Stay away from salts and sugars, which can also cause water retention. Make sure that you are receiving the proper nutrition and are intaking plenty of protein, amino acids and B vitamins.

3
Take a diuretic or eat diuretic foods. This is a safe way to remove excess fluid from your body. Foods and herbs such as apple cider vinegar, celery, celery seed, cranberry juice, dandelion, green tea, dandelion tea leaf, fennel, juniper berries, parsley and garlic are all foods you can use as diuretics.

Eat high water content foods. This may seem contradictory, but this can actually help eliminate water in the body by again hydrating it and tricking your body into thinking it needs to get rid of the water, rather than create more. Some high water content foods include artichokes, asparagus, brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, oats, tomatoes, watermelon and watercress.

Increase your physical activity. Exercise is one of the most effective ways to eliminate excess water from your legs and ankles. Cardio-vascular exercise is especially powerful in shaking off all of that water retention. Try running, cycling or tennis to speed up the process.
