Oral HCG Protocols

human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is produced in large amounts during pregnancy and is extracted from the urine of pregnant women. The substance was first noted in 1927. While the primary function of hCG is to deliver nutrients to the placenta, it also signals the brain to mobilize fat stores. Since the time of its discovery, hCG has been used for disorders of the testicles or ovaries and, to a lesser extent, for various diseases including sarcoma and other types of cancer.

In more recent years, hCG has been studied for weight loss. The first tests on hCG were conducted by the injection method, but more recently, oral protocols have been investigated. Dr. Daniel Oscar Belluscio, founder of the Oral hCG Research Center in Argentina, maintains that the oral hCG method is safe and highly effective in managing obesity.

Along with his associates, Dr. Belluscio performed double-blind protocol studies, where a group consisting of half the test subjects received hCG while the other group was given a placebo. Neither patient nor doctor knew in which group any individual patient was placed until the study was completed. Dr Belluscio maintains that the oral administration of hCG, along with a very low calorie diet, delivered rapid weight loss to problem areas. Since the early 1990s, Dr. Belluscio and his associates have treated more than 6,500 patients.
  1. Weight Loss

    • Dr. Belluscio performed the double-blind study on obese female volunteers. Half the participants were administered an oral dose of hCG and were given a very low calorie diet. The other participants were given a placebo and the same very low calorie diet. Subjects who received oral hCG were more efficient than those who received the placebo in decreasing body circumference and skin fold thickness from specific body areas. Results of the study state that the metabolic activity of hCG results in a loss of total body fat. The study concluded that a combination of hCG with a very low calorie diet triggers significant changes in subcutaneous fat and also decreases overall body weight.

    Side Effects

    • The study revealed that hCG administered orally was a safe and effective treatment for weight loss. No side effects were observed during the study.

    Mood Benefits

    • The study noted that test participants treated with hCG were better able to handle day-to-day stress and were generally seen to be in a better mood than test subjects who received the placebo.

    Results

    • The results of this study indicate that orally administered hCG is a therapeutic option. In addition, the study showed that participants treated with hCG were better able to handle stressful situations without excessive nervousness or anger. Emerging research indicates that oral hCG may be beneficial in treating psychological disorders.
