Pre-Teen Boot Camps in North Carolina
According to the National Evaluation and Technical Assistance Center, the population of at-risk teens in the state of North Carolina is greater than elsewhere in the U.S. Because of this, families in North Carolina whose children exhibit defiant behavior may wish to consider enrolling them in a pre-teen boot camp or other behavior modification program. When a child's behavior causes danger to themselves or others, they may benefit from the military, semi-penal environment of pre-teen boot camps. These camps use discipline, military exercise and physical training to break defiant behavior.-
Military-Style Boot Camps
-
The goal of a military style program is to teach children to obey authority, follow rules and improve behavior at home. Teen boot camps teach the importance of teamwork, discipline, and appreciation. About Face in Connelly Springs, North Carolina, aims to instill self-control, self-confidence and self-esteem through a regimented para-military system. It is also Christian oriented. About Face is not part of a judicial or court system. Camps are designed for children 8 to 17 years old, but there are some restrictions depending on behavior issues and mental illness.
