TNT Diet Foods

The TNT diet is a diet developed by Adam Campbell of Men's Health and Jeff Volek PhD. The idea behind the diet is to use every bit of food energy that goes into the body so that it is not stored as fat. This is done through a strict diet containing small amounts of simple sugars or carbs and a vigorous exercise routine.
  1. Meal Plans

    • There are five different TNT meal plans; A, B, C, D and E. Each plan is designed for how much weight you want to lose and whether you have done the TNT diet previously. Each plan is broken down into three different time zones; the fat burning zone, the reloading zone and the muscle building time zone.

    Fat Burning Time Zone

    • The fat burning time zone allows you to eat as much from a given list until satisfied. There should be one high quality protein such as beef, chicken, eggs, fish, pork or poultry. One of the goals is to not eat starch or sugars so you must pick a vegetable that is not weighed down in starch. Examples of low-starch vegetables are asparagus, broccoli, celery, cucumbers, mushrooms, onions and spinach. You will also need to choose a natural fat such as what you find in butter, nuts, olive oil, sour cream and avocados.

    The Reloading Zone

    • The reloading zone, usually a Saturday after a week of exercise and dieting, is a recharge meal day that allows you to load up on some glycogen, simple sugar, that may be low after the week's dieting. Eat when in this zone every three hours. Adding to the previous list, you can eat cheese and yogurt for protein. You are allowed to have sugary fruits in this zone such as apples, bananas, grapes and berries as well as some complex, nutrient-rich carbs such as cereal, flour, oats, rice and tortillas.

    Muscle Building Time Zone

    • The muscle building time zone is a meal one hour before and one hour after a work out. This portion of the diet is meant to promote muscle growth. These meals are made up of energy drinks that you can get from a health food store. MET-Rx Protein Plus, At Large Nutrition Nutriean and Biotest Metabolic Drive formula are all recommended in the TNT Diet book.
