A good way to consume more calories when on a weight-gain diet, is to drink shakes that are high in calories.

High Protein, High Calorie ShakeS

For a high-protein, high-calorie shake, combine: 1 cup of full-fat milk, 3 tablespoons of full-cream milk powder, two scoops of ice cream, 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup, (1/4 cup of fruit optional) and honey or sugar to taste. Blend ingredients in a blender for a delicious, high-calorie shake. A 1 cup serving of this shake provides 400 calories.
Two More Flavors

Combine three scoops of chocolate protein powder, 1/2 cup of skim cottage cheese, 1/2 cup of cooked oatmeal, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder. Blend ingredients together and drink for a delicious high-calorie shake.
For another flavor, try 2 cups of milk combined with one banana, three scoops of vanilla protein powder and three dashes of cinnamon. You might also add 3 teaspoons of flax seed oil. Blend and enjoy.

Continue to eat a well-balanced diet that includes fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, pasta, whole milk and other full-fat dairy products and beef and chicken for protein. Do not try to gain weight by eating junk food or drinking full-sugar sodas.
