How to Calculate BMI in Metric

- Your weight in kilograms
- Your height in meters

Take your height in meters and multiply it by itself. For instance, if you are 2 meters tall, multiply 2 by 2 to get 4.

Divide the number from step 1 by your weight in kilograms. For instance, if you weigh 100 kilograms, divide this number by 4 to get 25. This number is your BMI.

Look at a BMI chart to determine if you are at a healthy weight. Generally those with BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 are normal; those above this are overweight. Those below 18.5 are underweight (see Resources).
