How to Control Appetite

It can be really frustrating when you're trying to lose weight. No matter what you do, you just can't stop thinking about food and it seems like you're eating all of the time. Don't panic, with a little bit of self control, you'll have your appetite tamed in no time.

Instructions

Drink plenty of water. When your stomach growls you always think it's for food. Most of the time it's your body telling you that you need water. Water is a wonderful tool in the battle of the bulge. It fills you up and is calorie-free. Drinking a big glass of water before or during our meals can fill us up so you don't overeat.

Eat slowly. Most people eat so fast that the body doesn't have time to let you know when you are full. Eating slowly will give you time for your food to digest thus filling you up with less food.

    • 3

Keep busy. Exercise, read a book or watch a movie. Do something you enjoy to keep your mind off of food.

    • 4

Eat smaller, more frequent meals. Eat four to six small meals a day instead of three big meals. This will reduce your urge to snack so much.

    • 5

Brush your teeth. That cool minty taste in your mouth will deter you from grabbing a bite to eat. Not only because your teeth feel nice and clean, but because food does not mix well with toothpaste!

    • 6

Fill up on fiber-rich vegetables and fruits. Fiber makes you feel fuller for a longer amount of time.
