1
Get up and exercise. Exercising keeps your heart pumping and your mind off of food. Jump on the treadmill or go for a walk and you will soon be more into your workout than what to eat next.
-
2
Take a shower to divert your attention to eating. A shower will typically take you at least 10 to 20 minutes and by that time your mind may be elsewhere instead of on food.
-
3
Go for a relaxing drive. Jump in your car and head for a short road trip. Don't stop anywhere, just drive. Enjoy the fresh air with your windows down and do some sightseeing.
-
4
Brush your teeth. Carry a toothbrush and toothpaste with you everywhere you go in case you get a craving to eat. Once you get the taste of toothpaste in your mouth, you may forget about eating anything for awhile.
-
5
Snack on healthy foods. Cut up celery or carrots and chew on those. Healthier food choices are better than foods that will trigger your appetite.
-
6
Call up a friend. It's important to have a support system, so call up a buddy and tell then you are bored but hungry and would like to do something to divert your attention. Working together, you can both come up with ideas to curb your appetite.
