How to Count the Carbs for Your Pounds
All nutrients can be stored as fat in the body if they are unused. Carbohydrates metabolize in the body faster than any other nutrients and are therefore stored as fat at a quicker pace when unused. There is no way to know exactly what nutrients in your body have been stored as fat contributing to extra weight gain, but you can get an estimate by knowing how many calories a pound of fat has and knowing how many calories are in each gram of carbohydrates.Things You'll Need

Get on a scale and determine how many pounds you want to count. You cannot attribute all your weight to carbohydrates, so take that into consideration before your determine your number.

Multiply the number of pounds by 3,500. There are 3,500 calories in a pound of fat. The result is the number of calories for all the pounds you are counting.

Divide the total number of calories for your pounds by 4. There are 4 calories in every gram of carbohydrates. The result is the amount of carbohydrates that equals the total pounds of fat.
