How to Release More Water Weight
If you find that your best-fitting jeans are suddenly snug on your body, then you may be suffering from water retention, a condition in which fluids collect in your muscle and body tissues. Your body tends to retain fluids when your body isn't getting regularly hydrated, or you may be consuming too much salt or sodium, which contributes to dehydration. 1
Drink more water. Take a water bottle with you everywhere you go and refill it when needed. Mix the water with cranberry juice or lemon if you don't like the taste of plain water. Drinking green tea can also curb water retention.

2
Consume less salt. Cut down your intake of processed foods and substitute them with fruits and vegetables. Vegetables such as celery have organic salts and other minerals that are good for your body. Foods with lots of potassium and fiber, such as bananas and yogurt, also help balance bodily fluids.

3
Be physically active, as active muscles can more easily drain excess fluids. You don't need to change you whole lifestyle, yet do little things to stay active. Take a walk around the neighborhood, or help a neighbor or co-worker lift a few heavy boxes. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Ask your doctor if any medications you are taking promote water retention. Check if there are any alternatives that can prevent water retention.

5
Swim more. Water pressure promotes the release of water from muscle tissues, including the bladder. Work out in the pool.
