How to Organize a Biggest Loser Contest
Instructions

-
1
Post a note on bulletin boards or send out a mass email to individuals in the group.
-
2
Set a date two to three weeks in the future as the start date. This gives everyone time to decide if they would like to participate, but not so much time that they forget.
-
3
Choose an end date. Several months is enough time to lose a substantial amount of weight, but not so long that the contest loses momentum. Consider tying the end date to a meaningful date, such as the first day of summer or the week before Thanksgiving.
-
4
Determine the prize. Each person contributes a fixed amount of money for the prize, generally between $10 and $20, and the winner gets the prize. If you have a large number of participants, you may want to create several prizes, dividing by age or gender, for example.
-
5
Conduct an official weigh-in at the beginning of the competition. One person should be in charge of keeping the weigh-in chart.
-
6
Perform weekly weigh-ins to keep everyone excited about the contest and feeling competitive.
