1
Plan the specific days you will go on the detox plan. Do not plan on doing the detox during a time you know will be stressful, or if you have special events coming up, such as a wedding or party.
-
2
Start the detox on the weekend or on a day off. You will probably be tired, hungry and maybe even irritable. You will also have to use the restroom more than usual.
-
3
Drink at least 36 to 38 ounces of water every day during your detox. Drinking water will help to suppress your appetite, relieve water retention, and eliminate impurities in your body.
-
4
Clean out your kitchen and take note of all foods that contain white sugar or flour. Store these items out of sight for the time you are detoxing.
-
5
Eat organic fruits and vegetables to avoid excess chemicals. Beets, radishes and cabbage are foods that will help in detoxifying your body. If you cannot buy organic, wash your fruits and vegetables before eating. Mix 1 tsp. bleach in a gallon of water. Wash the fruits and vegetables in the solution and rinse in running water.
-
6
Consume plenty of fiber during your detox to help you clean out your body. This includes brown rice, vegetables and beef and poultry.
-
7
Consume healthy snacks during the detox plan. Snacks include grapes, apples, almonds, and vegetable sticks.
-
8
Take a vitamin C supplement. Vitamin C produces glutathione, which helps to clean out the liver.
-
9
Keep a journal that details how you feel each day of your detox. Note how you feel physically, mentally and socially.
-
10
Exercise for one hour every day. Exercise helps you sweat, which helps to release toxins from the body. Consider exercise such as yoga and jumping rope.
-
11
Stay positive. You may have setbacks but if you do, just begin again.
