Cheapest Way to Lose Weight Fast

Dieting is a struggle for many. Aside from the discipline required, there are often expensive costs associated with popular diet plans. Gym memberships, weight loss programs and prepared foods are just a few of the costs that can arise when attempting to lose a few pounds. But with the right plan and by setting up a routine for yourself, you can lose weight using the resources you already have in your home.

Drink at least eight glasses of water per day. Keeping hydrated will help flush waste from your body and allow your metabolism to work better to burn fat. Also, by drinking a large glass of water with each meal, you will get fuller faster, and intake less calories as a result. Purchase a water filter to avoid having to continuously purchase bottles of water; filters are inexpensive and last for several months.

Cut your portions in half, especially when dining out. In most cases, restaurants serve at least double the serving size you would normally eat a home. When placing your order with a server, ask them to place half of your meal in a to-go container, and to serve the other half to you. Not only will this make it easier to control your portion, but it will also save you money on lunch or dinner for the following day.

Exercise at home. Gym memberships can be expensive and there are thousands of fitness DVD's that produce the same results (if not better) than using machines at a gym. Fitness DVD's can cost as little at $10, and will last a lifetime. Some popular fitness series include Jillian Michaels cardio blasts, Tae Bo boot camp and Julianne Hough dance routines. It is important to exercise at least three times per week, and at least five times to accelerate results.

Do not eat after 7 p.m. Eating too close to bed time is one of the top reasons why people gain weight. Your body needs at least two to three hours to properly digest food before you go to sleep for the night.
