How to Jog on a Mini Trampoline to Help Lose Weight

Using a mini trampoline is one way to lose weight. This method can be fun and carries a lower risk of injury to the knees and ankles. You won't burn off a vast amount of calories because of the way body weight is absorbed through the spring effect, but what you do burn off will feel easier than if you were to do higher-intensity exercises such as running or swimming.

Find suitable flat footwear. If you do not have any, you can jump in bare feet. Nevertheless, it is safer to wear trainers to support your ankles.

    • 2

Try a basic bounce. Stand in the center of the mini trampoline with your feet shoulder-width apart. Bbounce slowly and gently, and start to lift your feet off the base. Increase the height of the bounce as soon as you feel more confident.

    • 3

Alternate between walking and bouncing. Lift the heel of the foot and bounce slowly on your toes. To add extra movement, swing your arms up and down. This will help you burn more calories.

    • 4

Try a gentle jog on the mini trampoline. Lift your feet up a few inches off the base and create a running movement and action. Swing your arms as if you were jogging on the ground.

Do star jumps to increase the amount of calories you burn. Bounce slowly and gently on the base with your feet shoulder width apart. Lift your arms so that they are at a 90-degree angle to your body. Jump up and down while moving your arms up and down, then back to the starting position.

Increase the activity level again by sprinting on the trampoline. Do this for two minutes then rest for two minutes. Repeat as many times as you feel comfortable.

    • 7

Jump from side to side and around the trampoline using both of your feet. Swing your arms the same time as you bounce for added calorie loss.
