Tone your stomach. While you're performing consistent cardio activities to burn off excess calories, integrate tummy exercises to help tone and build abdominal muscle. To perform a pelvic tilt, for example, lie on the floor with your knees bent. While flattening your back against the floor and tightening your stomach muscles, bend your pelvis up a little. Hold for five to 10 seconds. Do it five more times and work up to 10 to 20 repetitions. Another effective belly exercise is a pelvic lift. While relaxing your arms at your sides, lie on your back with your knees bent up toward your chest. With your knees aimed toward the ceiling, tighten your lower abdomen and lift your buttocks up off the floor. Do this five more times and work up to 10 to 20 repetitions.
