How to Use the iFit Feature on a Nordic Track Treadmill

IFit is a workout technology that lets you expand the number of workouts available with your NordicTrack treadmill or other exercise equipment. You can download iFit workouts to your treadmill with an SD memory card, a USB thumb drive or through your home wireless network, if available. The workouts are designed to achieve specific goals, such as weight loss, body sculpting or endurance, and feature voice-narration by a trainer while you work out and tracking of your progress over an eight-week period.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach one end of the treadmill key to your waistband and insert the other end into the treadmill console. The key is a safety device designed to shut down the equipment if you fall or are thrown from the treadmill during the workout.

    • 2

Insert an iFit workout SD memory card into the slot on the front of the treadmill console. The card should be oriented with the name of the workout face-up and the metal contacts on the card face-down.

    • 3

Press the arrow keys next to the iFit card slot to choose a workout. The console display will show a trail on the side of a mountain that reflects the incline of the workout. The display will also show the name of the workout, the maximum incline, the length and the maximum speed of the workout.

    • 4

Press the "Start" button to begin the workout. The treadmill will start at the initial speed and incline settings of the workout. IFit workouts are broken into one-minute segments with a speed and incline setting for each minute.

    • 5

Select the "Speed" or "Incline" buttons to override the settings for that segment of the workout. Changes will affect only the segment you are on. When the next segment begins, the treadmill will adjust to the programmed speed and incline settings of the workout.

    • 6

Press the "Display Mode" button repeatedly to choose the information you want to see during the workout. The display can show time remaining, distance, speed, incline, how many calories have been burned per hour or during the entire workout and the number of vertical feet you have climbed. Press the "Display Zoom" up and down arrow keys to zoom in or out of the mountain trail on the display.

    • 7

Press the "Stop" button to stop the workout. The treadmill will stop, and your workout progress and position is saved to the SD memory card. When you begin the workout again, it will resume on the next segment.

    • 8

Remove the key from the console. Remove the iFit SD memory card from the slot.
