How to Get Rid of Your Chin Wattle

A chin wattle often occurs as people age. Sometimes referred to as "turkey neck," a chin wattle is loose skin that is underneath the chin and on the neck area. The reason that aging contributes to a chin wattle is that the fat in the neck pulls away from the surrounding muscles because of gravity. If you want to get rid of your chin wattle, first try home remedies; if those fail, you may need to resort to surgery.

Stand up straight. Tilt your head back. As you are doing so, press your tongue up against the roof of your mouth. Bring the chin down and toward your neck, keeping the tongue in place. Do five repetitions of this exercise three times per day. This exercise tightens the muscles that can help eliminate chin wattle.

Apply an anti-aging cream to your chin wattle every night. Smooth it on gently using your fingers. Look for a skin cream with anti-aging ingredients such as hydroxy acids, copper peptides and kinetin. If your skin experiences any irritation, decrease use to every other day.

Have the chin wattle surgically removed. The procedure must be performed by a cosmetic surgeon. He will do a neck lift and can also tighten up the area under the chin and on the jawline. Do your research before choosing a surgeon.
