The Wii Fit Weight Loss Plan
The Nintendo Wii Fit program uses video game software and a Wii Balance Board as tools for improving health and losing weight. The Wii Fit weight loss strategy focuses on daily exercise, encouragement and monitoring users' weight and BMI.-
Profile Creation
-
A user begins by creating a Wii Mii character. The user then sets a weight loss goal and a time frame. Future sessions start on a calendar page, and users have a choice of performing either a body test or training.
Body Test
-
For weight loss and management, the Wii Fit body test measures the user's weight and calculates a BMI. The program calculates the user's Wii Fit Age, a measurement of his current performance. The body test section ends with stamping the calendar.
Training Features
-
The primary focus of the weight loss plan is to encourage and track consistent daily exercise. Wii Fit offers five categories of exercise games: strength, aerobic, yoga, balance and favorite games. With consistent use, the user can unlock more games and advanced levels. Users can also customize workouts and input exercise done outside of Wii Fit.
Results and Incentives
-
Incentives built into the program include new calendar stamps, Wii Fit Bank color levels and an instructor who provides instructions and tips. Wii Fit monitors and tracks users' development using graphs, Fit Credits, a calorie counter and a time log.
