Eating Tips for Getting Lean

Many people believe the myth that it is hard to start eating healthier and getting lean. This, however, is not true. You can find many simple ways to eat healthier and get lean.
  1. Eat Organic and Free-Range Chicken

    • Eating more organic and free-range chicken is better for getting lean, because most commercial chicken is laden with hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and food-borne pathogens, says weight loss researcher Zach Smith at shapefit.com. Organic chicken is a super-lean protein source that can be eaten as an alternative. Also remember to peel off that fatty outer layer of skin for an even healthier outlook.

    Eat Farm-Fresh Eggs

    • Eating farm-fresh eggs from free-range chickens and organically fed chickens will provide you with an excellent source of whole foods (unprocessed and unrefined foods), rich nutrition and bioavailable protein (protein able to be absorbed by an organism). These items are important when trying to shape your eating habits to get lean.

Eat Ocean, Lake or River-Caught Fish

    • You should eat true fish, not shellfish, such as shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams and oysters. Shellfish are filthy and increase your chance of acquiring a food-borne illness, according to weight loss and food researcher Zach Smith. However, lean fish caught in oceans, lakes or rivers is a great source of little fat and great amounts of proteins. Make sure to eat wild, not farmed, fish, such as flounder, trout, bass, halibut, and grouper. The wild fish caught should be free of mercury as long as you catch them from a water source that is free of mercury.

    Eat Lightly

    • Remember to eat lightly. That means to eat when you're lightly hungry, eat slowly, and eat until you're full. It will benefit you more if you eat when you're only lightly hungry. If you wait to eat when you feel famished, you run the risk of eating uncontrollably, because you think you need more food to satisfy your hunger. Eat slowly, because this will give your brain enough time to tell your body when you are full. If you eat too fast, you may overeat, taking in more food than you need, and this can make you sick or feel bad after the meal.

    Eat Clean

    • "Eating clean" is a quick and simple way to see yourself getting leaner. Eating clean means simply to cut out junk food and extra-fat, oily foods from your diet. Instead, eat more clean foods such as vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, beans and nuts. Eating more foods like these will lead you into a simple way of getting lean.
