Wacky Ways to Lose Weight

Losing weight can be a challenge for anyone. People will try anything to shed extra pounds in an effort to get in shape, even if they are wacky methods. From fad diets to body wraps, such weight-loss strategies aim at losing weight in a short period of time, but may not be permanent. Some of these methods can actually work if followed correctly, while others may be just too crazy to follow through with.
  1. Weight-Loss Body Cream

    • Weight-loss body creams aim at burning fat and cellulite while toning the skin. These creams can be rubbed on the body to aid in the weight-loss process in addition to diet and exercise. Weight-loss creams are said to regulate both body fat and cellulite, while removing unsightly dimples and bumps caused by fat. Creams are applied to such areas as the thighs, tummy, arms and chin once in the morning and again before bedtime. Although results for using such creams can vary, they are said to be seen six to eight weeks from initial use.

    Trash Bag Suit

    • Large trash bags are used by some people to place under clothing while running or jogging. Joggers and runners cut large holes on the bottom and sides of the large trash bag to to fit their head and arms through. Once placed, users run outside with it on in hopes of losing weight fast. This method permits water-weight loss to occur by sweating it out from the body at a faster rate than regular exercise. This is said to work because the trash bag provides insulation for the body, which -- mixed with heat -- causes the body to sweat. Those who wish to try the trash bag method should remember to drink water frequently to prevent dehydration.

    Grape and Water Diet

    • The grape and water diet is said to cleanse the body and provide quick weight loss. This method of weight loss requires the use of enemas to clean the colon, and then substituting grapes and water for every meal. Dieters do this for two straight weeks, then begin introducing different types of fruit and sour milk. Sour milk, however, can cause food poisoning, leading to stomach pains and vomiting. After eating fruits and sour milk for a week, dieters can then introduce raw vegetables, followed by salads, nuts and more dairy products. Any weight loss may not be permanent, as dieters tend to lose only water weight and not fat. Individuals considering such a diet should do so only with the permission and supervision of their doctors, as it may be dangerous to their health.
