1
Dress in exercise clothing that is breathable and allows for ease of movement.
-
2
Put on athletic socks and shoes designed for walking or running.
-
3
Fill a water bottle with filtered water. Drink filtered water throughout the day to enable your glands and organs to metabolize foods and burn calories more readily. Drink at least 64 ounces of water per day.

Walk for 30 minutes per day once you have dressed for exercise and have filled your water bottle. Some possible walking locations include a bike path, neighborhood walkway, high school track, an indoor mall or a local fitness or recreation center. Exercising 30 minutes or more per day will increase your calorie burn per day, resulting in weight loss. Each pound of weight is equal to 3500 calories of energy.

Eliminate unhealthy, high calorie foods from your diet. Unhealthy foods include foods that contain hydrogenated fats, foods high in sugar, fat or salt, and foods that are mostly comprised of refined white flour. Select lower calorie, higher nutrient-rich foods that are as close to their natural form as possible. Healthy foods include fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, nuts and whole grains. Try reducing your overall daily calorie intake to 1800, which will allow your body to burn off excess weight more quickly. You can reduce calorie intake by reducing portion sizes of meals and snacks.
