1
Locate the original contract you signed when you first joined Curves. Information about terms and conditions of the branch you joined should be located on the document that pertains to cancellation. This document also contains information about the original sign-up date and when the contract ends.
-
2
Read over the details of cancellation carefully to determine if the location will allow a breach of contract to accommodate a medical condition, as some franchises will. In the terms and conditions, information about a 30-day written notice to cancel should also be present.
-
3
Compose a letter of cancellation addressed to the manager of your local franchise detailing your experience with the gym, and clearly and politely state why you wish to cancel your contract.
-
4
Present the letter to the manager in person if possible so that she has a chance to speak with you, go over the reason for cancellation and possibly offer you chance to end the contract without accruing penalty fees.
-
5
Settle any fees if required as part of the contract. Because most gyms enforce a strict policy of a 30-day notice of cancellation, you might need to pay for an additional month, which serves as the cancellation fee in that instance.
