List of Foods to Eat When on a Fast Simple Diet
Foods that are beneficial for weight loss are likely already in your pantry and refrigerator. Fruits, lean meats, beans and vegetables are all superfoods that promote weight loss and good health. Exchange fattening foods with low calorie healthy ones and you will not only lose weight, but you will also fight off diseases, early aging and fat build-up.-
Beans
-
Beans are considered a real weight-loss superfood, according to John Foreyt author of "Change One: The Diet and Fitness Plan." Beans contain large amounts of protein, fiber and vitamins and as a result they keep you full longer than most foods. Maridel Reyes of "Self Magazine" reports that "one cup of beans packs half your daily folate, blood pressure regulating magnesium and energizing iron."
Fruits
-
Eat fruits for dessert and as snacks. Fruits like apples, grapes, oranges and blueberries provide a great source of fiber and vitamins, plus they are very tasty. In the article Superfood of the Week: Blueberries, "Self Magazine" reporter Samantha Levy explains that the blueberry fruit alone may help lose unwanted weight. Blueberries have the highest level of antioxidants of frequently eaten fruit, and according to Levy they can fight early aging and certain cancers.
Vegetables
-
"Crunchy vegetables are satisfying to munch, and their chunky shapes and sizes stretch your tummy so that receptors on the stomach lining send "all full" messages back to your brain," writes Foreyt. Vegetables are fulfilling and low in calories. Replace macaroni and cheese and other high calories sides with vegetables and you will start dropping pounds in no time.
Seafood
-
Similar to beans, seafood provides a great source of protein and like vegetables they are low in calories. According to Foreyt, seafood's such as salmon, shrimp and oysters are packed with many nutrients including zinc and omega-3 fatty acids. In the "Change One: The Diet and Fitness Plan" book, Foreyt explains that in a four-month-long Australian study, fish was shown to help volunteers lose weight and reduce their risks of heart disease and diabetes."
