Instructions

  1. Decide Which Franchise Opportunity to Pursue

    • 1

Go to the Jazzercise website to decide which franchise opportunity works best for you. They offer two different types of franchises. You can either set up a Jazzercise Instructor Franchise, where you are both the owner and instructor, or you can set up a Jazzercise Business Franchise, where you own and manage the business without actually teaching the classes. You will hire certified instructors to teach for you.

    • 2

If you chose the Jazzercise Instructor Franchise, download the Franchised Instructor Application online and submit it to a Jazzercise District Manager 10 weeks prior to the workshop.

    • 3

Schedule a movement screening with the district manager, receive CPR certification and begin studying with the provided materials for the Jazzercise workshop. You must also complete an online Health & Fitness exam, and upon passing, you will be approved to attend the workshop. Once you pass your exam and complete the workshop, you are a franchisee and certified Jazzercise Instructor.

If you chose the Jazzercise Business Franchise, download and complete the application before submitting it to the Jazzercise District Manager four weeks prior to the workshop. Submit your proof of CPR certification or attend a CPR workshop if you are not yet certified. Attend a Jazzercise workshop, where you will receive training on operating your franchise. Upon completion, you are a Jazzercise Business Franchisee.

Be ready to spend $1,000 to start up your Jazzercise franchise if you are in the United States or $500 if you are in a different country. After three months, you are required to pay a minimum of $50 per month or 20% of your gross revenues. You will also need to purchase comprehensive general liability insurance, which can be obtained through Jazzercise for $185 to $225 per year. You are responsible for providing music, which could cost up to $1,000, depending on where your music is purchased. You are required to have email capability, a DVD player, a music system, a stage and microphones. You will need to spend time and money marketing your Jazzercise business and secure a space that you can rent for an affordable fee.

Check your financial situation. If you are using your own funds from a savings account, make sure you have enough money to cover at least the first year of operation. If you need a loan, explore different options to see what suits your financial situation best.
