How to Use Acai Berry Supplements in My Weight Loss Program

The acai berry has generated a lot of positive attention in the nutritional world. A fantastic antioxidant, the acai is rumored to be an anti-inflammatory, an antibacterial and a rich source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Since it is also high in fiber and B vitamins, the acai is believed to be an ideal supplement to a weight-loss regimen. While there are no studies that prove the acai to have any weight-loss properties whatsoever, its health benefits make it a fantastic addition to a healthy diet and active lifestyle. These things are the foundation to all weight-loss programs.

Instructions

    • 1

Include a serving of acai (8 ounces of juice or berries, or supplemental equivalent) with a high-fiber breakfast to begin each day. Avoid heavy foods. Snacking on acai occasionally before lunch is OK, but unnecessary. If you are using an acai supplement that is a once- or twice-a-day pill, the morning is the time to take it.

    • 2

Exercise often. Up to 30 minutes before your workout, take in another serving of acai with plenty of water. This is the time to take a second pill, if that is your chosen intake method. Continue to hydrate throughout the workout.

    • 3

Eat a healthy lunch and dinner. Low-fat, nutritious meals are important to every weight loss program. It is not necessary to continue taking acai during these meals, but it also will not hurt you.

    • 4

Consume another glass of acai juice or serving of berries before bed, if desired. Keeping the antioxidants in your body while you sleep may be helpful, but again this is not necessary. The most important thing is to eat light between dinner and when you go to sleep.
