Calorie Shifting Diet Menus
The calorie shifting diet involves varying the intake of calories from day to day. This diet purportedly works because the body is unable to get used to the same amount of calories taken in each day. The result is the body is consistently burning calories.-
Breakfast
-
Breakfast, as all dieters have heard a million times, is the most important meal of the day. This is because while you sleep, your body is burning glucose and your blood sugar goes down. When you wake up, you should break the fast by eating smaller portions and healthy foods like oatmeal, scrambled egg whites, cottage cheese or cereal, to replenish your glucose levels. Eat a different food every day, as the amount of calories varies and will boost your metabolism. After breakfast, wait about four hours for lunch.
Lunch
-
The size of your portion for lunch should be about the size of a desk of cards. It should be the biggest meal of the day. For lunch, vary having chicken, fish, tuna salad, a sandwich, mixed veggies and cottage cheese. You can have pretty much any food you want for lunch as long as the portion is smaller than your fist and is not processed or fast food.
Snack
-
Having a tiny snack should hold you over until dinner. The best snacks for calorie shifting diets are a milk shake, fruit salad, handful of nuts or granola bar. Again, vary what you choose to eat each day.
Dinner
-
Usually, dinner is associated with the largest meal of the day. While on a calorie shifting diet, dinner is the smallest meal. Dinner should consist of either a salad, soup, baked potatoes, chicken or seafood. It should not be eaten after 7 p.m. With your dinner, add veggies as a side dish.
