The Dr. Oz Diet
-
The goal of the Dr. Oz diet is to essentially trim the waistline to an ideal 32 inches for women or 35 inches for men. The first step to healthy living is to organize your pantry. Avoid foods that contain preservatives, artificial flavoring, hydrogenated oils, bleached flour, enriched flour, sugar and high fructose corn syrup. Always read the fine print on food labels. Many foods claim to be healthy when, in fact, they are not. Substitute saturated fats with unsaturated and polyunsaturated oils, such as olive oil and flax seed. Eat fresh foods like fruits and vegetables, lean meat and fish. Dress salads with olive oil and vinegar, not mayonnaise. It is essential to always plan breakfast and lunch to start your day by burning calories. Begin the day with egg whites, steel-cut oats, whole grain cereals or breads and fresh fruit. If you are craving a snack during the middle of the day, bring along sliced apples, carrot sticks or fresh juice. Supplement your diet with at least 30 minutes of exercise a day to help burn calories and fight fat.
