Weight Loss & Energy Pills

Most energy pills contain caffeine, a natural substance that increases energy and awareness while suppressing hunger. Many people take energy pills when on a diet that restricts their calorie intake, as it duplicitously gives them energy that they may not have from low calorie intake and suppressed their hunger. While energy pills are effective, they also have dangerous side effects and should be taken with caution.
  1. Energy

    • Energy pills release caffeine into your bloodstream. Caffeine increases energy and awareness, causing your body to be able to remain active long after it has depleted its stores of energy-giving substances, such as carbohydrates. The response of the body to energy pills is similar to the adrenaline rush one experiences in moments of excitement or nervousness, except that the pill releases these chemicals more slowly, elongating the sensation to increase energy and awareness for a longer period of time. Therefore, taking energy pills when on a low calorie, especially low carbohydrate, diet is useful to remain active and awake throughout the day.

    Diet

    • Energy pills have hunger suppressants in them. These hunger-suppressing substances simulate the fight-or-flight mechanism in our bodies that require quick and decisive response to environmental stimuli; the body does not "remember," for all intents and purposes, to get hungry when under these conditions. Therefore, if you want to lose weight, but are uncomfortable after eating a reduced amount of calories, energy pills will help you suppress that hunger and discomfort.

    Side-Effects

    • Energy pills have some dangerous side-effects. These include nervousness, heart arrhythmia, blurred vision, and vomiting, just to name a few. Side effects are subject to change, depending on the type of energy pill.
